Upon a Grimes County DWI arrest, the officer will issue you a written notice of license suspension, which will come into effect in 15 days. An ALR hearing is an administrative hearing which is held to determine whether to suspend or revoke a person’s driver’s license after a DWI arrest. Your license may be suspended if:

  • You take a chemical test (breath or blood test) and have a blood alcohol concentration of .08%
  • You refuse chemical testing

For failing a chemical test, a first offense, your license may be suspended for 90 days. For a first offense of refusing chemical testing, your license may be suspended for 180 days.
